Easy as 1, 2, 3

Build a training session quickly by selecting a card from each category. Start your session with a green Beginning card, a fun activity that doubles as a warm-up.

Next focus on skill development with a yellow Middle card. The activity difficulties vary to suit all levels of players.

Finish your training session with a red End card. Let your players learn through trial and error in these scrimmage focused games.

Double Sided Activity Cards

Each activity card is double sided. One side contains an easy to understand diagram. The other contains details on how the activity works, what you need, how to play it, what to watch for as a coach, and also different ways you can adapt the activity.

Activities for All Levels of Abilities

Activities in the deck span a range of abilities. From very basic passing exercises for new players, to more complex activities that require more thinking and concentration. This allows you to tailor your session to the abilities of your team.

Supporting You

The Info cards contain information on how to coach and manage groups of young children effectively. It provides background on their developmental characteristics and how best to work with them.

You will also find a guide on what to do and how to behave before, during and after a weekend match. Coaching 5-9 year olds is completely different to working with adults or teenagers.

My son is 9, so he's at the upper end of the stated usefulness of these cards, but as soon as he and I started looking through them, I wished I could turn back time and give them to his coaches (one of which was my wife) when he was 5. The drills are simple but engaging and the deck is designed to give you a full practice session buy choosing a Beginning card, a Middle card, and an End card, and you can stretch out practice by adding extra Beginning or Middle cards.

At this point, I'm just glad that will give my son some ideas of things to do when he and his friends are kicking the ball around in the back yard, and maybe he'll be able to suggest a drill or two to his next rec league coach. If you are going to coach youth soccer or have a child that is interested in soccer, this is a fantastic deck to keep handy.

Coaching this age group is very challenging if you treat them like adult soccer players. The game at this age is completely different and needs to be coached accordingly.

They also include all sorts of drill difficulties. The cards seem to be water resistant. I like they're cards, so you can pre-select your training before practice and just bring those cards with you as a "cheat sheet".

These cards are very well made, sturdy, and very durable. They are perfect for learning how to coach from beginning to end of the season.

They are great quality, perfect that they come inside of a box where you can store them. Very easy to use and love that they come with pictures on the back to show you how to set up the drills.

Great value for the money, great fun way to learn new drills and keep the younger kids entertained without knowing that they are practicing the fundamentals through play.

As a mom whose only every casually watched soccer and suddenly needed to have an option to fill in the summer gap and maintain skills until our kids training program resumed these were fabulous.

Each of the cards comes with a preset activity, plenty of description, and options to change it up depending on attention and skill level for the day.

What's better, I found many of the activities to be nearly identical to practices structured by seasoned professional coaches in programs designed to seed college and pro players.

Even more knowledgeable coaches will find benefit here because they remove decision fatigue - simply shuffle the deck draw a card from each color and practice is set for you.

The only thing to note - these cards are written assuming you're working with a full team. If the intended use is one on one with your child, a few slight modifications will be needed and some of the cards may not apply well.
